Meet Dotty Dog and the Bright Babies Welcome Song 🐾🎵

One of my favourite moments in every class is when the Bright Babies Welcome Song begins to play. As soon as the first notes start, little faces light up — they know it’s time for fun!

The song is designed to create a familiar, comforting start to each session. That sense of routine helps little ones feel secure — they know exactly what’s coming next. Once the music begins and Dotty Dog comes out to wave hello, it’s like the signal that “class has started!”

The song itself includes four simple gross motor movements — stamping, clapping, stretching, and waving — which are some of the very first actions babies and toddlers learn to master. It’s a joy to look around the room and see their confidence grow as they realise they can join in too. Those proud smiles are everything!

Of course, the song wouldn’t be the same without our class mascot, Dotty Dog!

Dotty is black and white, so even the tiniest babies can see her clearly as she waves hello at the start of every class. She’s a big part of the Bright Babies experience — and not just because she’s adorable. For toddlers who might feel a little shy at first, Dotty helps break the ice. She’s like a friendly go-between, helping them warm up and join in.
